We're running out of ways to describe the disappointment that has arrived for the Florida State Seminoles this season. More specifically, Mike Norvell has infuriated the fanbase and things reached a new low following the loss on Friday night to NC State.

Danny Kanell said what everyone was thinking over Florida State's meltdown in loss

With the Seminoles now at 5-6 on the year, a win next weekend must be posted to reach bowl eligibility. After beating Alabama in late August, who thought this was where the Noles would be? After the loss, Norvell stepped up to the podium, but some of his comments really are rubbing people the wrong way. He felt his team had a good week of practice? Well, then what the heck happened under the bright lights, coach?

Mike Norvell managed to make the loss to NC State worse with absurd postgame quote

"Disappointed obviously in all things (that led to) the result for tonight," Norvell said via SI. "I felt that even through the short week that our guys, I felt that they prepared, I felt that they were ready but tonight just too many missed opportunities. Not good enough offensively. We were able to move the ball, but would have either a dropped pass, missed opportunity, just to be able to continue a drive.

"We did have a turnover there on the positive side of the field, missed field goals, but we've got to put points on the board. We've been on the road and we've failed to do that numerous times. We adjusted different things throughout the week in practice to try to have our guys be ready to go execute and perform to the best, and I know that didn't show up tonight."

Where do we even begin? This is just more of the same postgame coach speak that we're used to by now. While Norvell called himself and his coaching staff out a bit, the fact that he doubled down on having a good week of practice and mixing things up - not a great look. Norvell went on to say that things aren't good enough for FSU even if they reach bowl eligibility, which is stating the obvious.

Remember when people were thinking about the College Football Playoff after taking down Kalen DeBoer and Bama? That feels like a lifetime ago. The offense has regressed and special teams was a complete and total clown show in the loss to the Wolfpack.

If Norvell manages to keep his job, some assistants won't be brought back next season, that's for sure. Come next Saturday, the Noles will head to Gainesville in hopes of taking down the Gators to capture win No. 6. If they don't, Norvell could be on his way out. Even with a win, people want this guy gone.
