Monday means Mike Norvell meets with the local media to preview the upcoming game and, more importantly, give updates on injuries. Luckily, the prognosis on quarterback Tommy Castellanos seems very promising.
Castellanos twisted his ankle in the first half of Saturday's 66-10 win over Kent State. The quarterback left the game with FSU up big shortly before a weather delay. He didn't return to the game, but things were already under control and in the post-game press conference, Castellanos said he would be fine.
Norvell echoed that point.
Norvell says Tommy Casetllanos was able to get some work at practice today, and he is confident about his status this week.

"Today he was able to get some work. I feel confident about where that's going to lead. Obviously, we'll continue to see how the week plays out," Norvell said.
By all accounts, Castellanos is going to be ready to play this Friday when the Seminoles begin ACC play with a road game against Virginia. FSU will have to release an injury report later in the week, and we'll see if Castellanos appears on it.
More injury news: Pittman, White likely to return
The news was also positive for tight end Randy Pittman and wide receiver Squirrel White. Pittman has been out with a knee injury since Week 1 against Alabama and White exited the second game against East Texas A&M with a wrist injury. The Tennessee transfer was dressed out and participated in warm-ups Saturday, but did not play.
Norvell believes both players should be available Friday. Pittman and White were both listed atop this week's depth chart.
"Randy and Squirrel both participated today, barring a setback, I'm feeling very confident that both will be available," Norvell said. "But, you know, we'll see how it plays out."
The news isn't so good for tight end Chase Loftin and defensive lineman Kevin Wynn. Loftin will be out a couple of weeks after leaving Saturday's game with an injury. Norvell said he hopes to have Loftin back later in the season, but depending on where FSU's depth at tight end is by then, it might be a better move to redshirt. It really depends on how much time he's going to miss.
Meanwhile, Wynn's situation appears more touch and go. The freshman is a big body up front and will be a key piece for the Seminoles, who don't have a lot of depth at the defensive tackle/nose guard position. Norvell said that he's hopeful Wynn will be available.
"He's another guy that got in some work today. We'll see the response...how's he feeling and going into tomorrow what's that workload look like?" I'm hopeful that we'll have him available for Friday night," Niorvell added. "I mean he was somebody that really established himself, pre-injury, as being right there in the mix in that rotation. I fully expect him to play when he's capable to play. And we're hopeful we can get him out there Friday if he's ready. I think there's a path to that, but we have to see how [he] responds."
