FSU PROJECTED DEPTH CHART

Florida State football will be taking on the Virginia Cavaliers this Friday at 7 PM EST on ESPN. It will take some time getting used to the Friday night kickoff. Some of the players might even feel like they are back in high school again.

The Seminoles dropped their projected depth chart versus the Cavaliers on Monday.

It is exciting that we are only four days away from kickoff. This is a conference matchup that the Seminoles need to win, as the program has heightened expectations following their season-opening victory over Alabama.

PLAYERS ADDED TO THE DEPTH CHART

Tight end Randy Pittman Jr. caught my eye on the depth chart. The former UCF transfer has not played since the Alabama game, where he had a small procedure that seems to be corrected now. The veteran brought physicality to the offense with his blocking.

Wide receiver BJ Gibson made an appearance. The dual-sport athlete looks to help the football program remain in the championship contender ranks. It was interesting that wide receiver Lawayne McCoy was not on the depth chart after coming back from injury versus Kent State last week.

Nose tackle Kevin Wynn is someone that the coaching staff has to be excited to have back. Wynn is a true freshman, but he makes other defenders around him better. Plus, Darrell Jackson Jr. is listed at 6'5" and 337 pounds. There will be times when he needs a break.

Linebacker Caleb LaVallee is someone who also showed up on the depth chart. LaVallee started in the bowl game with North Carolina, and he was very instinctual and flew to the football. At the very least, the Seminoles have more capable options for depth.
