FSU's hunt for a quarterback in the 2027 class has reached a pivotal point as one of their biggest targets, Israel Abrams, has the Seminoles among his top five schools.
The four-star prospect from the Chicagoland area, has narrowed his list down to FSU, Miami, Kentucky, Auburn and Purdue. Abrams has already scheduled an official visit to Tallahassee and will be in town on June 12.

Mike Norvell and the staff have been circling the wagons with a few different quarterback prospects, but as we get into spring and leading into summer official visits, the focus has been narrowed down and Abrams is one of the primary targets.
As Abrams told Anna Adams of 247Sports, FSU came with an offer a little later than some of his other top schools, but the interest in Norvell and his history with quarterbacks in strong.
"Coach Mike Norvell speaks for himself. He's been a successful coach. Looking forward to building that relationship with him," Abrams told Adams earlier this week. They came along a little later (with an offer), so still getting to know them."

Now that the official visit has been scheduled, Abrams is trying to get on campus ahead of time and is scheduled to take a spring visit in early April. There's a bit of a conflict in that schedule because Abrams also has his official visit to Purdue around that same time. More than likely he'll move the official visit back to late May/early June to coincide with his other visits.
The sense of urgency for Norvell can't be understated here. Abrams is a top player at the position and one that seems willing to give FSU a legitimate shot. There are a few other prospects out there that the Seminoles are looking at, notably in-state blue-chip recruit Wonderful Monds IV, but if Abrams checks out right and seems ready to commit, Norvell has to convince him to pull the trigger.
