Florida State has to connect with this quarterback prospect or it could get dicey

This is someone who could pledge to the Seminoles.

Florida State football seems to have a quarterback competition on its hands for the 2025 season. The Seminoles have scholarship options such as Ashton Daniels, Kevin Sperry, Malachi Marshall, Jaden O'Neal, and Dean DeNobile.

The expectation is that it will be a battle among Kevin Sperry, Ashton Daniels, and even Malachi Marshall (if you think the summer enrollee will be ready). The fan base doesn't necessarily see a Jameis Winston waiting in the room, but it could be very interesting to monitor.

Head football coach Mike Norvell has a million other problems to worry about than just the quarterback battle, with his job security being on the line. Many individuals thought Norvell would be fired after the embarrassing loss to Stanford. However, the administration informed the public that he would be retained for the 2026 season.

Mike Norvell is welcoming in a talented quarterback prospect Israel Abrams

Florida State needs to find its quarterback for 2026, but the position itself never sleeps, and coaches have to be on the lookout for the best possible fit at signal-caller. The expectation was that four-star quarterback Wonderul "Champ" Monds IV from Vero Beach, Florida would be the answer.

Monds IV is unofficially visiting Florida State during the spring, but teams like Florida and Notre Dame are pushing for his services. They are also involved with a four-star Texas A&M commit Jayce Johnson. As I always say about the Seminoles' recruiting efforts, it is always recommended to have backup plans if targets look to be trending elsewhere.

As a result, four-star Israel Abrams from Arlington Heights, Illinois, will be officially visiting Florida State on the weekend of June 12th. Abrams was offered by the Seminoles on January 28th, so the program got involved in the recruitment quickly.

Other schools like Purdue, Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee are involved in his recruitment. The Kentucky Wildcats are the most worrisome because they recently had a de-commitment from their three-star quarterback commit, DJ Hunter. Kentucky gets a later visit, and they have a desperate need to overpay for a quarterback.
