GET AFTER THE QUARTERBACK

Florida State football fans should have known that it was the kiss of death when legendary head football coach Nick Saban stated last offseason that the Seminoles had one of the best defensive lines in the country.

The Seminoles were fed up with the narratives last offseason after Florida State was excluded from the College Football Playoff by his Alabama Crimson Tide. However, individuals were willing to trust his word since he had been so successful.

The hype was real as the Seminoles returned ascending pass rusher Patrick Payton, defensive tackles Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson Jr., and then added former Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr., whose father played for Florida State.

It was a disaster where the defense never got home to the quarterback (unless they played California). The program brought in a new defensive line coach with Terrance Knighton and transfers such as James Williams, Deante McCray, Jayson Jenkins, and Deamontae Diggs, who look to find success in 2025.

Defensive coordinator Tony White's multiple 3-3-5 scheme looks to be physical and get after the quarterback.
