FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football has the 13th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles' fan base wants to get to the coveted top ten ranking before it concludes, which would be the first time during the Mike Norvell era.

The landscape of college football has drastically changed, where the coaching staff cannot just worry about high school recruiting anymore. The transfer portal is also a major factor in how teams construct their roster.

Florida State fans saw what happened in 2024 when there was an over-reliance on the transfer portal, and those contributors didn't pan out. This is a learning lesson to find a method of mixing both together appropriately to gel the team together to make a winning product.

LINEBACKER VISITING

It isn't all about high school recruiting, as the Florida State Seminoles still have to be a productive product on the gridiron. The Seminoles have lost two in a row to Virginia and Miami, and now welcome a Pittsburgh team that just beat Boston College last week by a score of 48-7 with a true freshman quarterback who has built confidence in himself.

As it stands, the coaching staff will try to have prospects be in attendance for the last three home games of the season. One prospect that mentioned that he will be visiting is Class of 2026 three-star linebacker Karon Maycock from Miami Central High School in Miami, Florida.

As we are seeing this year, the linebacker position is important in defensive coordinator Tony White's 3-3-5 scheme. The defensive line will be holding the line of scrimmage, and the linebackers have to be active in coming up in run support.

The Seminoles already have four-star Izayia Williams and three-star Noah LaVallee, along with Maycock. However, the program cannot afford to lose the talent from Miami. This will be a perfect opportunity for Florida State to show the linebacker how he will be utilized in the defense.

Hopefully, he exits Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a wonderful experience and a victory against Pittsburgh.
