RB AMARI THOMAS (SOUTH CAROLINA COMMIT)

Florida State doesn't have a running back prospect committed in the fold because four-star Amari Thomas, from Blountstown, Florida, decided to flip from the Seminoles to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

This was confusing since Thomas was a local prospect, and the Seminoles have shown an emphasis of running the football with its running backs. There was a time when the rusher was wearing other team's gear when he was camping at Florida State (seen as a red flag).

According to his statistics on MaxPreps, he has 1,406 yards and 17 touchdowns during his high school season. As a result, this is a prospect that Florida State cannot afford to let walk. There are several talented backs on the roster, but they need to continue acquiring depth and let the numbers take care of themselves.

Thomas keeps visiting Florida State, but doesn't flip back to the Seminoles. It looks like this could be a situation where he could stick with South Carolina. However, head football coach Mike Norvell and company will recruit him to change his mind.
