Yards Per Play
One of the things that plagued the FSU offense last season was the inability to hit explosive plays.
Opposing defenses didn't respect FSU's offense because they knew they couldn't run the ball well enough to establish a passing attack.
They also knew the receivers would likely drop the ball, or the offensive line wouldn't hold up long enough to get an accurate pass off.
FSU averaged a measly 4.42 yards per play, which ranked No. 132 out of 134. That's a far cry from the offense "Built for Playmakers" that averaged 6.27 yards per play in 2023 and 6.96 in 2022.
Gus Malzhan's offense averaged 6.50 yards per play at UCF last year, and that's with poor quarterback play.
