QB KEVIN SPERRY
Florida State had a masterful performance by its quarterback, Thomas Castellanos, who mentioned that legendary head football coach Nick Saban cannot save the Crimson Tide. Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn put Castellanos in a great position to be successful.
Castellanos had 230 total yards and one rushing touchdown. He gave Alabama's defense everything that it could handle. However, this week should be a little bit different as the signal-caller will likely only be out there for a half.
This allows the fan base to see who the backup quarterback will be. In my opinion, Coach Malzahn has raved about the true freshman Kevin Sperry in the preseason, where he even got second-team reps in a scrimmage due to a Brock Glenn injury.
The former four-star prospect is someone that the coaching staff coveted in the recruiting class. I could see Sperry making a couple of splash plays on offense to give the Seminole faithful a vision of what it will be like in the future with the dual-threat quarterback out of Texas.
