DE LT OVERTON (ALABAMA)

Florida State's offensive line was atrocious last year, much like their entire offensive unit. That was the reality in Tallahassee last season. However, there is a renewed sense of hope as former offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins is now at LSU coaching tight ends.

This isn't a shot at Coach Atkins, and I wish him nothing but the best. However, there was not much progress being made on the offensive line during his tenure in Tallahassee. The Seminoles decided to hire former UCF offensive line coach Herb Hand, who has been at Power Four schools such as Texas, Auburn, Penn State, and Vanderbilt before the Knights, so his concepts have proven to work.

Florida State went out and landed transfers in the portal to offset the losses that they endured (take notes, Dabo Swinney). The Crimson Tide fans received the news on Wednesday that defensive tackle Tim Kennan is expected to miss the season opener with an injury.

This puts pressure on the other defensive linemen to be successful. Defensive end LT Overton didn't love what Castellanos had to say in his interview with Nakos, so he made a quote of his own, where he stated: "We want to make sure that he doesn't want the ball in his hands anymore."

Overton will be someone that both offensive tackles, Gunnar Hansen and Micah Pettus, have their eye on to ensure that the Seminoles' offense continues to move the chains and put points on the scoreboard.
