How FSU football became the WORST Power Four team nationally in 2024

Mike Norvell Let Accountablity Slide Overall
It's not an excuse, but FSU getting snubbed from the College Football Playoff fractured this coaching staff and players. They got told the 13 games played meant nothing to the CFB committee and then told to play in an Orange Bowl that meant absolutely nothing.
I believe Mike Norvell cares deeply about his players and coaches. He experienced their hurt, the coaches' hurt, and his hurt. I'm not making excuses, but these guys are not robots but humans with emotions.
I believe Mike Norvell is a competitor and expected these players and coaches to have the same drive to win as he did. However, I don't believe he enforced the standard, as in the past. I don't think he held the coaches accountable. In return, I don't think the coaches held the players accountable.
That goes for the coaches and the strength and conditioning staff as well. I think that's why FSU looks slow, soft, and struggles to win one-on-one battles. I think it's why some veteran players regressed tremendously.
Ultimately, that led to the players not holding one another accountable. One of the first things Mike Norvell mentioned upon arriving at FSU was they were not a player-led team.
It's one of the major issues with FSU in the last few years of Jimbo Fisher that carried over to the Willie Taggart era, and it has reared its ugly head again.
