Florida State baseball had its postseason journey ruined by the likes of St. John's in regional play. It was disappointing to see the program go down, even though superstar Myles Bailey suffered the devastating blow of an injury after sliding into second base.
Bailey's injury gave a reminder to the Seminoles that it was going to be an uphill battle on offense since he was the main source of power hitting. What is even crazier is that he was still the leader on the team in home runs (13), and he hasn't played half the season.
Florida State head coach Link Jarrett knew that the roster had to be flipped over after losing to the Red Storm. This was probably one of the worst Florida State offensive squads in a while, but they still found a way to host a regional.
The Seminoles have had a couple of players announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal. Starting shortstop Gabe Fraser was one of the latest players to enter, and Florida State has to get quality players on its roster.
Talented UCF shortstop transfer Jordan Lodise announced that he would be transferring to Georgia Tech
One name that was an intriguing one to monitor was UCF shortstop Jordan Lodise.

Jordan's last name might sound familiar to Florida State baseball fans because his cousin is former Seminole infielder Alex Lodise. He was a pivotal piece for Florida State during the 2025 season, when he had 17 home runs. He was later drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the MLB Draft.
The Seminoles were thought to be contenders in his recruitment. However, there was one big issue with the thought process. His brother, Kyle Lodise, plays an infield position for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Unfortunately, the younger Lodise is headed to Georgia Tech, and Link Jarrett will be searching for more options in the infield via the transfer portal. This was one where the family-focused recruiting battle didn't pan out for Florida State in the end.
