LB DQ FORKPA
As I mentioned in the previous slide, linebackers are an important part of Tony White's physical defensive scheme. The Seminoles will likely be recruiting three or four at the position every cycle.
Nonetheless, I don't believe that the fan base would argue with that after all the criticism of former linebacker coaches Chris Marve and Randy Shannon have recruited poorly in that department during their tenures at Florida State.
However, this is assistant coach John Papuchis's time to shine at the position. With four-star Karon Maycock and three-star Noah LaVallee, he is allowed to make a splash with targets. Now that five-star Xavier Griffin has gone to Alabama, four-star TJ White is trending to Tennessee, and four-star Rodney Colton Jr. is trending to Ole Miss, this could mean that Coach Papuchis finds another option.
Four-star linebacker target DQ Forkpa from IMG Academy will be making his commitment on July 12th between Florida State, Florida, Michigan, and Miami. It looks to be a battle between the Seminoles and Gators.
After his official visit with Florida State, Forkpa told media members that he envisioned himself being in the Garnet and Gold. However, the Gators have started to build momentum in the recruitment.
