LB RODNEY COLTON JR.

Florida State already has two linebacker prospects committed in their 2026 recruiting class with four-star Karon Maycock and three-star Noah LaVallee. I was originally worried about Maycock choosing Alabama, but that was before five-star target Xavier Griffin picked the Crimson Tide.

Assistant coach John Papuchis has begun to open the recruiting target board for other options to place in defensive coordinator Tony White's multiple 3-3-5 defensive scheme. Four-star Rodney Colton Jr. from Newnan, Georgia, seems to be someone that they have circled.

The talented defender will be making his commitment on July 12th between Florida State, Colorado, and Ole Miss. I could see the Seminoles grabbing his pledge if the Rebels don't show much interest.

The issue is that Florida State had an official visit in early June with Ole Miss and Colorado having later trips.
