I know some FSU fans might have PTSD from last year, predicting a blowout win like this. However, Kent State went 0-12 last year and 1-11 in 2023.
FSU will be off of its first bye week, and it's safe to say they are terrible. FSU will use this game like a scrimmage to work on some things they may need reps on since everything will be relatively new. Hopefully, they'll get some young players in this game for reps to help get those guys some experience.
The Virginia Cavaliers went 5-7, 3-5 ACC last season, a small improvement in Tony Elliot's third season at the helm. They beat Richmond, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, Boston College(without Tommy Castellanos), and Pittsburgh.
However, they got blasted in the seven losses and were not good. Virginia has spent some money in the transfer portal, and it'll be a Friday night road game on a shortened week.
Virginia hosts Stanford the week before playing FSU, so it's not the same type of cupcake FSU will face. This game will prove pivotal for how the season goes, with FSU potentially going into the Miami game 3-1.
