The 2025 FSU football season is still some time away, but that doesn't mean fans can't daydream and fantasize about how things might play out. It's a must-win season for Mike Norvell and his coaching staff.
Now that spring camp concluded, and the roster is likely set after the closing of the Spring Transfer Portal window, now is the perfect time to turn our attention toward the 2025 schedule and how things could shake out.
While there remain many unknowns for FSU and their opponents, I thought the schedule shook out favorably for the Noles when released earlier this year.
They open with a major matchup against Alabama and then have 2 to 3 games to work out the kinks before facing a major rival. That will be beneficial with so many new faces on the roster, and why I'm bullish on FSU surprising some folks this year, provided they have some good injury luck.
The expectation is seven or eight wins, according to oddsmakers juiced to the under. Here is how I see FSU handling those expectations in my way too early-game-by-game predictions.
FSU will have new faces all over its roster and several months to prepare for Alabama. The Crimson Tide will have a new offensive coordinator and likely an inexperienced quarterback.
I'd expect Alabama to play somewhat conservatively on the road in his first game, and FSU defensive coordinator Tony White will look to confuse the young quarterback in passing downs.
I expect it to be close through the half, with both teams trying to establish the running game. Alabama will return many experienced players on defense, and a turnover here or there will likely be the difference.
