FSU Football Must WIN
FSU has the potential to earn way more money than before the lawsuit settlement. How does FSU attain that money?
They have to win on the field. They must be among the two best teams in the ACC.
Period. There's no reason for FSU football not to be among the two best teams. They are in the best state for top talent per capita. They spend the money to attract top talent and have one of the most passionate fan bases nationally.
However, if FSU doesn't consistently win, they won't get the ratings needed to attain the money available because it's all based on TV ratings.
I mentioned that FSU was the top brand in the ACC for the 2023 season because they played in nearly every prime-time game that season and went undefeated. People either love or hate FSU football. When FSU is winning, folks tune in to see them win, but a large percentage tune in hoping they lose.
However, if FSU turns in another 2-10 campaign like last season, they can kiss the opportunity to earn all those millions of dollars that would come via TV viewership goodbye.
FSU settled its lawsuit but ultimately won because it granted the opportunity to earn more money and leave the ACC eventually.
However, to fully maximize that settlement, FSU MUST win on the field starting in 2025.
