Florida State will be taking on the North Carolina State Wolfpack tonight at 8 PM EST inside Carter-Finley Stadium. The Seminoles have not been successful on the road, which has caused individuals being frustrated with their approach away from home.
Head football coach Mike Norvell has been criticized by the fan base, as he has a combined 38-32 overall record during his sixth season with the Seminoles. This isn't the standard at Florida State, but the administration is hoping that it can be turned around in an instant.
The next step in the journey is the Wolfpack, who were blown out by the Miami Hurricanes last week on the road by a score of 41-7. DraftKings Sportsbook feels like the Seminoles could be in a good position, as the spread has increased to 6.5 points in favor of Florida State.
STOPPING RB SMOTHERS WILL BE KEY
Virginia Tech's offense revolves itself around the idea of running the football, which was revealed against the Seminoles, where they rushed for 238 yards. Florida State's defense will now have to navigate their attention to North Carolina State running back Hollywood Smothers, who had seven carries for -2 yards (stats found via ESPN Stats and Information).
This could be a perfect bounce-back spot for Smothers. Ironically enough, the former four-star prospect was recruited by the Seminoles, but he decided to stay closer to home.
This is an offense that got embarrassed by Miami's defense. Quite frankly, this looks like a spot that North Carolina State will play better in front of their home crowd. The Seminoles' defense will have to be motivated to put on their hard hat and stop the run.
It will be a battle of what team wants it more: Florida State or North Carolina State. It never seems to be easy in Raleigh for the Seminoles, so buckle up! This one could get spooky.
