Florida State was actively searching for a running back in the transfer portal. Their main target was senior Utah State transfer Rahsul Faison, but he ended up signing with South Carolina with ultra-talented Rocket Sanders going to the NFL. Faison would have an elevated number of opportunities.
Meanwhile, I did not think that it was necessary to go all-in on Faison, given the talent on the roster. I also said the same thing at wide receiver a few years ago before they picked up Keon Coleman, and that turned out to be a great acquisition.
Nonetheless, the Seminoles have Roydell Williams, Jaylin Lucas, potentially Caziah Holmes, Samuel Singleton Jr., Micahi Danzy, Kameron Davis, and Ousmane Kromah returning in 2025.
As most of you know, I am high on the ability of Kromah to be successful in the offense. However, it is notable to know that the four-star running back signee is a summer enrollee, so the development could be a little bit slower.
Freshman running back Kameron Davis went on his Instagram story where he stated the following: "You heard it all 3... Come back with a new story."
Davis had flashes of being successful last year. Some fans were frustrated at the youngster since he did not make many opposing defenders miss in the open field. However, it should be known that Davis played quarterback for his high school football team and is still getting used to the position.
I believe that he will be an effective weapon during his sophomore season with new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn running the show. He relies on the running game heavily. I expect Davis and Kromah to be the two running backs that he revolves his offense around in 2025.
This is shaping up to be a monster statistical season for Davis next year.
