Florida State football has fifteen transfer prospects in the fold so far. The Seminoles made that a priority after having a 2-10 record in 2024. It was certainly not something to be proud of.

Some of the fan base is fed up with the over-utilization of the transfer portal instead of focusing more on developing homegrown talent via the recruiting trail. Trust me, I understand the frustration and where it comes from. However, the Seminoles are in win-now mode not having the luxury to endure the bumps and bruises of an underwhelming 2025.

They have to bring in quality veteran help via the transfer portal. The coaching staff's philosophy of the portal is different this time around. There is no sense to grab a high amount of players who project to be good based off of their high school ranking.

They want a lot of transfers who have done what they needed to do at the collegiate level. Production is the name of the game. The offensive side of the football looks to be focused on quite a bit in the transfer portal.

Quarterback Thomas Castellanos is a name that gravitates amongst the fan base. However, the coaching staff knew that they needed to help Castellanos out by surrounding him with talent that he needs to be successful.

As a result, they landed wide receivers Duce Robinson and Squirrel White, as well as tight ends Randy Pittman and Markeston Douglas. They could add a couple more playmakers. One name that I would like to see them add is Utah State running back Rahsul Faison, who had over 1,000 rushing yards and eight touchdowns last year.

I am high on the potential of true freshman back Ousmane Kromah, but it could be difficult to envision a youngster to shoulder the load this early in his career. Faison could make a ton of sense given that he has proven it at this level.

One of the dominos fell as Louisana senior running back transfer Dre'lyn Washington has committed to Alabama. This is significant because Faison took a trip to the Crimson Tide recently. They could always take another running back, but it looks like he wants to be a feature back in an offense.

All in all, it looks like the race for the Utah State standout could come down to Florida State (already visited), North Carolina (on a visit with now), and South Carolina (who he will visit soon). The Gamecocks look to be in position with stud running back Rocket Sanders declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Florida State has been cooking with hot grease with this new coaching staff though.
