Kevin Sperry-QB

We wondered who would come off the bench first once Thomas Castellanos left the game. We got our answer, and it looks like freshman Kevin Sperry might officially be QB2.

Sperry looked incredibly comfortable while on the field, and it likely helped that he had a good offensive line to protect him. He was four of five for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

All of his throws were on target, and the lone miss was in a tight window in the end zone that went just off the fingertips of Amaree Williams in the back corner of the end zone.

His touch pass to Ousmane Kromah was laid out there perfectly, with pressure coming from both sides. He also showed the ability to move the chains with his legs. He had three rushes for 22 yards, with a long of 18 yards. If he continues to develop, he might be a close replica of Thomas Castellanos in Gus Malzahn’s offense.
