FSU football took care of business the way they were supposed to on Saturday afternoon in a 77-3 thumping of the East Texas A&M Lions. The starting offense probably could have scored 100 points by the end of the third quarter.

We knew it would be a game where the starters would likely get out early so the reserve players could get experience and build depth for the future. Some reserve players got into the game after only a quarter and a half had been completed.

I’ll tell you what, there wasn’t much of a difference between what the starters did and what the reserves did in terms of production. It’s possible East Texas A&M put a few reserves in early in an attempt to save their starters for conference games.

However, it was refreshing to see the reserve players attack and play like their lives were on the line. What made it even better was how much joy the starters had cheering them on and celebrating their successes.

This team plays as a team, and it shows. Here are the top five reserve players from the East Texas A&M game.

Zay Parks-RB

FSU ran the ball at will the entire game, and several running backs had success. However, I was impressed with Zay Parks on the day. He ran hard and made the most of his opportunities and likely why he took some carries from guys who might be above him on the depth chart.

Parks had the second-most carries with 10 and rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. The redshirt freshman averaged 6.1 yards per rush and scored the final touchdown of the day on a 13-yard run.
