Thomas Castellanos' Decision-Making

Thomas Castellanos is a fiery competitor, and it’s easy to see that he wants to prove himself. Last week, against Virginia, the turnovers were mostly due to bad luck or an attempt to make a play at the end of the game.

The turnovers against Miami were egregious. It was him throwing the ball up, hoping his guy would make a play with multiple defenders around. There were several times he could have taken the checkdown(like he started doing late in the game with great success), but he tried to force the ball way too much.

FSU losing big probably forced Gus Malzahn to throw the ball more than you’d like, but anytime Thomas Castellanos throws the ball over 25 times, it’s probably not going to end up good for FSU.

Castellanos made some solid throws late, but missed several wide-open receivers when FSU needed to start making its run early. Castellanos has to stop trying to play hero ball and use his playmakers like he did in the Alabama game.
