Parting Thoughts

Those are the biggest needs depending on how the coaching staff view different positions in their scheme, especially on defense.

FSU has a talented but young secondary, and I wouldn't be opposed to adding an experienced safety or cornerback.

Especially the former, because safeties play a big role in stopping the run, which is priority No. 1 in Tony White's defense. The coaches haven't shown much interest in secondary players, but that could change during the spring portal window once they get a chance to fully evaluate the current roster.

Mike Norvell prefers most of his portal players to enroll in January and go through spring camp. However, the secondary is a position in which players can miss a spring camp and likely still make positive contributions.

I like the way this new staff operates, and they've already working on the 2026 and beyond high school recruiting class. I'm excited to see what Mike Norvell 2.0 looks like with a veteran coaching staff that has major experience at the Power Five/Four level.
