The defense received some big news last week. Darrell Jackson Jr. announced he'd return for 2025, which is like adding a huge player from the portal. FSU got commitments from James Williams and DeAnte McCray from the defensive end positions, and Stefon Thompson committed at linebacker.

Tony White's defense will be multiple, morphing between the 3-3-5, 4-2-5, and whatever other looks he wants to present. That's what makes this prediction tricky, but I think FSU could stand to add at least one more linebacker or defensive end, depending on the body type.

Ideally, FSU would want a guy who could play in space a little and rush the passer. They haven't targeted many linebackers or defensive ends outside those mentioned, but we'll see if that changes once guys on teams in the College Football Playoffs become available.

Williams and McCray will join Aaron Hester, DD Holmes, and Jaden Jones. Also, newcomer JUCO Tyeland Coleman could get on the edge in the 3-3-5. Amaree Williams will give it a go in the spring. Thompson will join Blake Nichelson, Omar Graham Jr., Justin Cryer, Timir Hickman-Collins, Jayden Parrish, and newcomer Ethan Pritchard.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more guys here to help with depth.
