Final Thoughts
There's no question Gus Malzahn will use Thomas Castellanos more effectively than Bill O'Brien. FSU will likely have more talent surrounding Castellanos at the skill positions.
The biggest question? Can Herb Hand get the FSU offensive line up to par? The next biggest question? Can Gus Malzhan get Thomas Castellanos to keep the offense ahead of the chains and avoid predictable passing situations?
If so, that will likely limit potential turnovers from Castallenos through the air, and limiting offensive turnovers will be huge for FSU in 2025.
FSU will need Castellanos to make those throws he was missing in this game against Missouri. He completed 64 percent of his passes, but he should have been north of 70 percent easily.
FSU will need him to make plays in the passing game so teams won't feel confident loading up the box to stop the run like Missouri did in this game.
They were betting Castellanos couldn't consistently beat them through the air, and they were right. That's what will come into play against teams with talented defenses like Alabama, Clemson, and others.
There will be times Castellanos makes crazy plays, and there will likely be times he doesn't make the throw we could make in our sleep. That should make you excited and nervous at the same time.
