LB BLAKE NICHELSON

Florida State's linebacker core has been a question mark this year (much like a ton of other positions). Fans were worried about how the group would perform after veterans Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune graduated and went to the NFL.

The thought was that, with veteran DJ Lundy returning to Tallahassee in the offseason, it would provide leadership in Randy Shannon's room. However, it was announced by Norvell that Lundy will miss the remainder of the season with an undisclosed injury.

One player that has benefitted with an elevated level of snaps is sophomore linebacker Blake Nichelson. The former four-star prospect was a recruit that Seminole fans were excited when Florida State landed him in their 2023 recruiting class.

Nichelson had five tackles versus Clemson, but the fan base wants to see the linebackers come up in run support and cover in space better. I think this could be a moment of growth and development for the young defender.
