FSU football: Grading new coaching hires after 2024 season
By Kelvin Hunt
Parting Thoughts
Overall, the two staff make up most of the staff from UCF and Nebraska. The offensive guys fielded a top-30 offense, and the defensive guys fielded a top-20 defense. They did that at places that do not have access to the same caliber players that FSU does, which bodes well for the potential on the recruiting trail and player development.
We've seen new staff come to FSU after dreadful situations and improve things quickly. Think Jimbo Fisher following Jeff Bowden and Mark Stoops following the final season with Mickey Andrews.
The synergy and familiarity the staff will bring on both sides of the ball should improve things quickly at FSU. It'll all come down to how many quality players they can add from the portal to join the young talent on the roster.
The good news is both sides will likely attract productive players from their previous schools, which should aid in the implementation of the schemes and help current FSU players learn quickly.
FSU brought in experience, youth, a track record of success, and major programs with this staff. I think it's a significant upgrade over the previous staff overall. Their ceiling will be determined by the caliber of players they can get to FSU and Mike Norvell holding everyone accountable.
