FSU football: Five huge takeaways from Luke Kromenhoek's first career start
By Kelvin Hunt
Ability To Attack Vertically
As mentioned, Luke Kromenhoek isn't out there like Brock Glenn in the ACC Championship game. That's not a slight to Glenn, because Louisville's 2023 defense is lightyears better than Charleston Southern.
However, it's great development to see Luke Kromenhoek attacking defenses vertically. His first college throw should have been a 50-yard touchdown had Kentron Poitier not dropped it in the end zone.
That was a big-time throw and catch between two true freshmen. It's first down and attacking down the field here shows FSU isn't going to predictably hand the ball off. It forces defenses to be honest instead of blindly crashing downhill.
If FSU can do this with success, it helps to open the running game(provided the offensive line can block it up).
