Parting Thoughts

It's a delicate balance to determine who's ready to play and who's doing the right things in practice to earn playing time and win football games. I know fans say take this guy out and put this player in. However, it's not a video game where young players get inserted, and there is no dropoff.

The only time I'd force a young guy into a game before he was ready is if a veteran player wasn't giving his all and was loafing on the field. If the young player was physically capable? I'm putting him in the game over the veteran guy at that point. I do have some questions about a couple of guys and why they're still playing. However, the coaches have way more information than we do regarding what's going on behind the scenes.

Some guys could be hurt. Some guys might be loafing at practice and not putting the work in. There are a ton of reasons why we may not see young guys on the field as quick as you'd wish. However, Mike Norvell has played freshmen early when he thinks they're ready, so it'll be interesting to see which young players continue to get more playing time over the next six games.
