I think FSU will play better than most think, but crazier things have happened.

Best Case Scenario

If we’re using the same formula of who FSU would be an underdog and favorite against, and which games would be toss-ups. The best-case scenario would be FSU beating Alabama or a close loss. Either scenario would almost feel like a win.

Let’s say they lose in a competitive close game and go on to beat East Texas A&M, Kent State, and take care of business against Virginia.

The Miami game at home becomes pivotal to how far this team could go. If FSU won that game, they’d likely beat Pitt, Stanford, and Wake Forest to go into the Clemson game with a 7-1 record and clearly ranked inside the top 25.

FSU keeps it competitive with Clemson in a loss to fall to 7-2 before beating Virginia Tech and NC State to get to 9-2. I’ll say the Noles lose to the Gators in a close game to be conservative here and finish 9-3.

I think 9-3 would be the ceiling for this team unless DJ Lagway continues to get hurt and Florida falls off the face of the map as the season progresses, which isn’t too far-fetched considering his injury history.
