Transfer Portal Players Have Production and Experience

This is a major difference compared to a year ago. Most of the transfer portal players were players the old staff formerly recruited out of high school who went elsewhere and didn’t get to play much before transferring to FSU.

It was like the staff put their future on the hopes and dreams of guys who were highly rated in high school but not proven at all.

That’s not the case with the transfer portal crop the coaching staff took this year.  They took six offensive linemen, and the first four all have significant starting experience at the Power Four level.

Randy Pittman has plenty of experience and production while playing in Malzhan’s offense the past two years. Duce Robinson and Squirrel White have multiple years of experience and production at wide receiver. Roydell Williams returns, but Gavin Sawchuk has production and experience.

Almost all of the transfers on defense have experience and production to boot. It’s a group of older and more proven players, and FSU has young, talented guys who were thrown in the fire last year that may contribute at a higher level in 2025.
