Conrad Hussey
Conrad Hussey has a lot of talent and is a player former FSU defensive coach Adam Fuller tried to fast-track into the lineup in the 2023 season.
He played in all 14 games and tallied 22 tackles, one interception, and two forced fumbles. The thought was he'd take that next step in his progression in year two, but he was far from it.
Hussey was slow to react, played soft, and showed many immature moments on the field. FSU's safety play was a weakness most of the year and will need to be a strength in 2025.
Hussey got hurt and missed the final two games last season. I was shocked didn't enter the transfer portal, and truthfully, the injury might have had something to do with it.
However, Mike Norvell said he had conversations with every player regarding their commitment to winning if they returned after last season. Hussey is on the team, so we'll see how it shakes out, but I'm still not sold after what I saw last year.
Maybe the new coaching staff can reach him in a different way and help him maximize his potential.
