A lot has to go right to pull it off, but it's not impossible.

Avoid Missed Tackles

I’m seeing a lot of media members turn on FSU defensive coordinator Tony White for no reason. They were all hyped when he got hired and have been hyped all offseason, but the closer we get to the Alabama game, they are some dumb stuff.

Listen, Alabama is a talented team. They will move the ball and score some points. However, one of the biggest things FSU can control is being in position and making tackles when opportunities present themselves.

Adam Fuller caught a ton of flak last year, mostly deserved, but some of it was as simple as players in a position to make tackles and completely whiffing. Linebackers and safeties in particular were huge culprits.

I couldn’t count how many times FSU players would be in a position to make a tackle, but would wait instead of attacking, or would run beside a guy for seven yards before trying to tackle, and giving up another five.

Many of the guys who were responsible for those shenanigans are no longer on the roster, but not allowing guys to run after the catch or missing guys at the line of scrimmage will be huge.
