Avoid Third and Long

If FSU can establish a running game, it'll help prevent predictable passing situations in third and long.

Those situations are danger zones for a young quarterback. Florida has 30 sacks on the season (tied No. 30 nationally) and 43 QB hurries. It puts Kromenhoek at risk of fumbling from a sack or throwing an interception.

The latter is something the Florida defense has excelled at this year. They rank No. 37 with 11 interceptions and forced 16 fumbles while recovering six.

If FSU finds itself deep in its territory and the game is close, I'd rather see Mike Norvell go conservative in these situations. If it's near midfield or better, a draw or some run play to make it a manageable fourth down would be the smart play.

The only game against a Power Four team where Florida won the turnover battle and lost was against Georgia. I think the FSU defense can hang with the Florida offense as long as the FSU offense keeps them in the game.
