FSU football: 5 biggest things to know about the Virginia Cavaliers in 2025

Is UVA for real? I have my doubts, but here's what they've shown so far.

O-Line and Experienced QB

Here’s a stat for you. The Virginia offensive line hasn’t allowed a sack all season. Some of that is Chandler Morris using his experience and legs to evade pressure and get rid of the ball. Some of it is that they haven’t played anyone with a good defense.

Another portion is that they probably get the ball out fairly quickly, and that’s something FSU has been dealing with over the past few games. UVA quarterbacks have only been hurried 10 times.

I’ve seen some opposing defenses blow up the UVA offensive line to get pressure, so FSU will likely have its moments to cash in. They’ve missed several opportunities to get sacks, James Williams in particular, who leads the team in QB pressures.

Chandler Morris has been in college since 2020 and has attempted nearly 10,000 passes. He’s savvy back there and mobile enough to buy some time. If FSU can win on the early downs and put him in predictable passing situations? FSU should win more times than not.
