Is UVA for real? I have my doubts, but here's what they've shown so far.

Love To Throw On First Down With Experienced WR

One key thing to know about the UVA offense is its propensity to throw on first down. They have an incredibly balanced offense, running the ball 54 percent of the time and throwing it 46 percent of the time.

However, 48.6 percent of their pass attempts come on first down. They only complete 62 percent of those passes, which leads me to believe that’s when they attempt to attack vertically off play-action since they’ve been running the ball well.

That’s fairly unusual, but UVA has an experienced quarterback with two senior wide receivers leading their offense.

FSU will need to get pressure on Chandler Morris to make him uncomfortable and give the secondary a fighting chance in coverage. FSU runs a lot of zone, which should be helpful against Morris, looking to use his legs in the running game.

UVA has only had 23 plays when it’s third and 7+, which is why they’ve been so successful on third down conversions. FSU will need to win on early downs, especially when they put it in the air.
