TE LANDEN THOMAS

The Florida State football team did not have many bright spots last season with the 2-10 year, but sophomore tight end Landen Thomas showed that he belonged on the roster with a breakout seven-reception, 80-yard performance against Clemson.

Thomas was a borderline five-star prospect that the Seminoles coveted in their 2024 recruiting class. The Georgia native was a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenses.

Seminole fans discredit the tight end position sometimes because they aren't as flashy. Let's face it, it isn't wide receiver Duce Robinson coming down with spectacular one-handed grabs, but they are important in Mike Norvell/Gus Malzahn offenses.

Thomas hasn't recorded a statistic this year, but that is bound to change in time. When Florida State released its projected depth chart, they had Landen Thomas with an -or- designation with Amaree Williams and Markeston Douglas.

The Seminoles won't have Randy Pittman Jr. this week as they will likely get him back against Virginia, but Thomas should have success in the first half against Kent State.
