UVA Allows Tons of Explosive Plays
UVA allowed runs of 57, 30, 12, and more against NC State, and NC State made them pay through the air as well. NC State’s CJ Bailey went 16 of 23 for 200 passing yards and one touchdown. He averaged 8.7 yards per attempt. NC State averaged 7.17 yards per play overall.
UVA won’t be able to play its safeties back because they’ll struggle with stopping the run, which opens up opportunities for FSU to hit explosive plays through the air.
NC State hit passing plays for 23, 21, 27, 21, 13, and several others. All of those passes went to different receivers.

Not to mention that FSU will have Randy Pittman Jr. and Squirrel White back for this game to join Duce Robinson, Lawayne McCoy, Micahi Danzy, Jayvan Boggs, and Jaylin Lucas.
FSU quarterback Thomas Castellanos has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in limited passing attempts, connecting on most of his vertical shots down the field. Granted, most of those passes have come against inferior competition, but he easily could have overthrown those guys, but didn’t. FSU will use the run to set up the pass, but they may not have to pass too much if UVA can’t stop them on the ground.
