FSU is FSU

Listen, FSU attracted a top-tier defensive coordinator like Tony White after winning only two games last year. Did FSU get lucky in some respects? There’s probably some truth in that, but FSU is going to win way more than two games in 2025.

If things continue to trend as they are, FSU should have more top-tier defensive coordinators beating down the door to come coach in Tallahassee. FSU has a new renovated stadium, a football-only facility slated to open in a few weeks, and access to some of the best high school talent nationally.

Oh, did I mention FSU pays its coaching staff well? FSU has a way out of the ACC when they are ready to make that move, and is in a much stronger position than a year ago, when they hit rock bottom.

They say sometimes you have to get broken to find out how strong you really are, and that seems appropriate for what Mike Norvell experienced a year ago. Now, ultimately, he’s responsible for it happening, but the rebound has been impressive. It’s likely he has learned his lesson and won’t repeat the same mistakes.

FSU will be fine with or without Tony White as its defensive coordinator.
