Responded to Adversity Every Time

The opening drive from Alabama looked like it would be a long day for the FSU defense. The Crimson Tide drove 75 yards on 17 plays to take a 7-0 lead to try to take the crowd out of the game.

However, the FSU offense responded with a seven-play 75-yard touchdown drive to answer, which told me a lot about this team. That was a statement that they were not going to lay down for Alabama.

They scored on their next two drives to take a 17-7 lead, and you’d think FSU might relax before the half. However, the FSU defense got a stop and a turnover on downs on Alabama’s next two possessions. FSU took a 24-7 lead, and just as it looked like Alabama would grab some momentum on a bad decision by Jaylin Lucas to not field a punt and turn it over, the FSU defense got another stop.

It would have been easy for them to fold there and allow a score on a short field. However, they forced a turnover on downs to stave off their momentum. When Alabama eventually cut it to a touchdown lead, the FSU offense responded with a touchdown to put the game away for good. They responded every time they needed to on both sides.
