Will FSU correct some of the mistakes they made against Alabama?
There were not many areas where FSU needed to show massive improvements overall. The coaches referenced many missed assignments and misalignments on defense. However, I’m not privy to that information since I don’t know what the assignments and alignments were.
What I do know is that FSU needs to show a lot of improvement on special teams. The field goal from Jake Weinberg was nice, especially considering he had to make the kick a second time after a timeout.
However, I’m curious to see if we’ll see improvements in the kickoff and punt return game. Hopefully, we don’t have to see many kickoff returns(since that would mean they scored), but East Texas A&M should punt quite a few times this weekend.
I need to see some semblance of an explosive punt return game on Saturday. I also hope to see way fewer missed tackles on defense when the players have the opportunity to make impact plays.
Overall Thoughts
I'm curious to see how many fans will show up for a noon kickoff against an opponent who will be outmanned. I'm sure some folks will show up to see the new renovations, and others may show up because of the excitement from last week. However, I hope it's not a half empty stadium like some noon kickoffs against inferior teams. If it is and the team takes care of business? That's an even better sign of things to come for this team.
