FSU football: 3 HUGE overreactions to road loss against Virginia

FSU is still a good team.

Not many teams left on FSU schedule who has an offense like UVA

That brings me to this part. Any offense with an experienced quarterback who can use his legs to do damage and make throws against zone coverages will give FSU problems.

The holes were there against Alabama, but Ty Simpson was too inexperienced to take advantage, and the Alabama receivers got spooked because the FSU defense played with a ferocious physicality.

That physicality wasn’t there for much of the night, which is a concern. However, there are not many offenses left on the schedule that can do what UVA does offensively. Miami’s offense is good, but I don’t think it’s as good as UVA, and Carson Beck isn’t the runner that Morris is.

The FSU defense should match up better with Miami than UVA, provided they can stop the run. That’s a big question, but at least it’ll be a traditional running game and not the quarterback running in key situations.

FSU held UVA to 5.4 yards per play, it was the third and fourth down conversions that were killer.
