Secondary
Jeremiah Wilson will be a starter at cornerback. Earl Little Jr. will start at one of the safety positions. KJ Kirkland sounds like he’ll be a starter, and either Ja’Bril Rawls or Quindarrious Jones will start at the other cornerback spot.
Edwin Joseph, Shyheim Brown, and Ashlynd Barker will get some time in the secondary at safety. All of these guys have starting experience or played a good bit last year. However, it’s when the backups come into play that I get nervous.
Redshirt freshman Ricky Knight III is talented but lacks experience, and the rest of the depth at safety consists of freshmen.
At cornerback, players like Charles Lester and Cai Bates have seemingly been passed up by freshman Shamar Arnoux. Redshirt freshman Ricky Knight III is talented but lacks experience but can play cornerback or safety.
Talent isn’t an issue, but the lack of experience and installing a new defense could make it tough if injuries come into play with the starters.
