For a portion of the country, this past weekend was the start of the high school football season and our first look at some of FSU's commitments and top targets in the 2026 class.

The Seminoles moved up a spot to the 14th-ranked recruiting class in the country after getting top linebacker prospect Izayia Williams to flip from Ole Miss

First up it's top running back target Amari Latimer. The six-foot, 215-pounder plays for Sandy Creek High in Tyrone, Georgia. He is currently committed to Wisconsin, but FSU is hot on him and are expecting him to be in attendance on August 30 for the Alabama game.

As targets go, Latimer and in-state offensive tackle Johnnie Jones are probably the two biggest ones on the board. The fact that both prospects are likely to be in Doak Campbell Stadium for the Alabama opener bodes well for FSU.

Darryl Bell looks like a two-way monster

Two-way athlete Darryl Bell has been committed to the Seminoles for nearly two years, and he's going to have a massive senior year at Barbara Goleman High down in Dade County. Here he is grabbing an interception, and showing his skills on offense by taking this short route to the house.

Bell is likely to end up on defense, probably as a safety, but there is something there with him on offense that may be worth exploring. Either way, Bell has been a very loyal Seminole throughout the recruiting process and will be fun to watch at the next level.

Jay Timmons out here stuntin' like his daddy

Speaking of two-way performances, how about Jay Timmons? He was EVERYWHERE in his season opener for Pine-Richland High in Pennsylvania. In this video, Timmons is seen delivering big hits on defense and making big plays on offense.

Timmons is definitely going to end up on defense and the way he hits will remind you of the way his father, Lawrence, used to crack helmets back in the day. It's clear the younger Timmons loves football and wants to do something big every time he's on the field.

Let's hope this is just a taste of what the FSU 2026 recruiting class has to offer in their final year of high school.
