Florida State baseball came up short on the road in the Super Regionals against the Oregon State Beavers. The Noles were only a few pitches away from returning to the College World Series for the second consecutive season.

The turnaround under Link Jarrett over the past three seasons has been nothing short of magical, as he’s put FSU back in the mix to compete for that elusive National Title.

It's one of the reasons that FSU baseball will start the season among the top 10 teams nationally, according to one major poll:

FSU lost arguably the best pitcher in college baseball with Jamie Arnold becoming the No. 11 overall selection in the 2025 MLB Draft.

FSU lost arguably the best pitcher in college baseball with Jamie Arnold becoming the No. 11 overall selection in the 2025 MLB Draft. They also lost their Sunday starter, Joey Volina.

They also lost some firepower from their offensive lineup. Alex Lodise, Max Williams, Gage Harrelson, and Drew Faurot became MLB Draft picks.

However, it’s no different than the previous year when FSU lost its top four hitters to the MLB Draft. Link Jarrett has done a great job of adding offensive talent and solid pitchers from the transfer portal, and this offseason was no different.

There are some question marks with all the new faces, but the talent is abundant, and FSU returns players like Myles Bailey, Cal Fisher, Chase Williams, and Wed Mendes. Several FSU players had a good fall, and the coaching staff will use the next few weeks to tinker with which players make them the best from top to bottom. FSU will open the season on February 13th with a three-game series hosting James Madison.
