FSU baseball made a lot of noise in 2024, going from one of the worst teams in 2023 to making the College World Series in Link Jarrett's second year in Tallahassee.

We expected improvement, but it became a special season despite losing some key guys due to injury for large portions of the season. The offense carried FSU for much of the year, with Jamie Arnold developing into one of the best arms in the nation.

Much of that offensive firepower got selected in the 2024 MLB Draft. Cameron Smith and James Tibbs were among the top 15 selections in the first round. Jaime Ferrer and Marco Dinges were fourth-round selections, with all four guys batting over .300 and providing 62 percent of the home runs from last year.

Max Williams is the lone returning starter who batted over .300 and had over 10 home runs. FSU did well in the portal, acquiring an array of offensive players with versatile skill sets. However, the pitching staff will likely need to be the team's strength until it can find an offensive identity.

Jamie Arnold returns as the ace, with an assortment of arms from the transfer portal. However, most have pitching experience and production at varying levels.

The Noles will open the 2025 season on February 14th hosting James Madison. They will face several teams early in the season that will give them opportunities to work things out before entering stiffer competition. We'll have more FSU baseball coverage as we get closer to the season!
