FSU baseball had eight players selected in the 2024 MLB Draft (two in the first 15 picks) and looks to be in the same ballpark again in 2025.
The Noles project to have five players selected in the first five rounds of the 2025 MLB Draft, which will start next Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia.
FSU starting ace Jamie Arnold is the headliner and will likely be a top-10 selection. He's the No. 4 prospect overall via MLB.com.
FSU starting shortstop Alex Lodise, the reigning ACC Player of the Year and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, projects as a second-round selection. He is the No. 43 prospect overall.
FSU starting centerfielder Max Williams is projected as a third-round selection. He is the No. 81 prospect overall.
FSU pitcher Cam Leiter, who missed the last year and a half with some type of injury projects as a fourth-round selection. He is the No. 114 prospect overall.
FSU starting second baseman Drew Faurot is projected as a fifth-round selection. He is the No. 158 prospect overall.
FSU has other players projected to get drafted: Joey Volini, Gage Harrelson, and Peyton Prescott(pending his injury prognosis).
The slot values for the draft selections in the first two rounds will easily exceed over one million dollars. Arnold would likely sign for north of six million dollars if he's a top-10 selection. Lodise would sign for around 2.2 million if he's selected where projected.
Williams would sign for around one million if selected where projected. Leiter would sign for about $667,000 if he's selected where projected. Faurot would sign for $434,000 if he's selected where projected.
It's not likely, but I'd like to see Max Williams return to FSU for one more season because I think he has a lot of room for improvement at the plate and could eventually become a first-round selection with production similar to James Tibbs III in 2024.
Nevertheless, this many FSU players getting drafted is a great sign for the program under Link Jarrett's leadership.
