It's Time

Whether FSU waits until after the Florida game or after FSU gets embarrassed by NC State on the road, they have to pull the trigger on this firing. When they do isn’t a concern as much as actually doing it.

This program needs another reset, and there’s no sense in prolonging it to try and save a few million dollars. FSU and Tallahassee will lose that amount of money from fans not showing up to games in 2026 and not spending money in the local economy.

The faster they can get a new coach on board to breathe new life into the program, the better. That will help fans re-engage and provide hope for the future.

It’ll help stop the negative recruiting from opposing teams. It’ll help attract better players to Florida State to get this program back to respectability quicker.

Some folks have mentioned waiting to fire Mike Norvell because of so many other job openings and because of the 2026 football schedule. First, if you keep Mike Norvell, that win/loss record will definitely be ugly. Secondly, FSU is still a better job than most of the openings. There’s no guarantee that next year will provide better options anyway. If you’re dying, you’re not gonna wait for a potential trial drug to gain approval if there’s something you can take in the meantime to prolong your life.
